BeEmotion.ai, AviatePro Services and Simnest Pilot Academy Bring Human Behavioural Analytics AI to the world of Pilot Coaching

BeMotion.ai and Simnest Pilot  Academy have commenced a test deployment of BeEmotion.ai’s AeroMind software AI tool which supports coaching of commercial airline pilots in their training and qualification.   

Sydney, Australia 22nd January, 2025 – NVISO Group Ltd (ACN 627 584 847) trading as BeEmotion.ai, the leading human behaviour AI company, and Simnest Pilot Academy, the Budapest based company providing training programs for existing and future airline pilots, have started a test deployment of BeEmotion.ai’s AeroMind AI software tool on the A320 based FNPT II MCC flight simulators of Simnest Avation, the flight simulator manufacturer sister company of Simnest Pilot Academy to assist flight instructors in their coaching and training activities. 

In partnership with AviatePro Services Ltd, BeEmotion.ai has developed a cutting-edge solution in response to the aviation industry's need for advanced tools that assist human coaches, flight instructors and ATOs in analysing pilots' reactions and performance in various simulated stress scenarios.

AeroMind, the real-time human behaviour AI software solution powered by BeEmotion.ai technology offers insights into position, orientation, body movement, attention, and facial expressions for both pilots in a simulator. These signals are then interpreted and analysed to estimate a cadet's emotional recovery time after a critical, simulated event. For instance, in the case of a simulated emergency, the software can detect the startle effect and measure how many seconds it takes for the cadet to return to a neutral state. This enables instructors to assess, in a quantifiable manner, reaction times and other human factors such as emotional recovery, which are crucial for commercial aviation pilots.

With this solution, instructors, observers, and coaches receive objective reports immediately after the flight simulator session, providing valuable insights into the resilience of the pilots. The data collected can be used to enhance training effectiveness, allowing for the tracking of a cadet’s progress over time and enabling comparisons to be made against group averages for statistical analysis. This provides cadets and coaches with a clear understanding of development and progress. Additionally, different training methods can be compared, contributing to improved safety in the aviation industry. The results of these tests can be securely stored in cloud servers, but to ensure privacy, all processing is performed on the edge, meaning no data leaves the test facility unless consent is given. Data can also be erased immediately after analysis if desired.

The Aeromind solution, developed using BeEmotion.ai's expertise over more than 10 years, is currently being refined during the testing phase and is set to become a standard feature in Simnest Pilot Academy’s training programs. The process is carried out on the high-fidelity Simnest A320 FNPT II MCC simulator from Simnest Aviation, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of type-representative fixed-base aircraft simulators. As such, AeroMind development is carried out in a production environment, thus meeting the highest international standards, both in terms of pilot training and as a training tool.

The deployed system runs on advanced high-performance computing hardware at the edge, ensuring real-time processing and privacy protection. Data is stored only with consent, for the benefit of the cadets. Two variants of the system are supported, for each of Fixed Base Simulators (FBS) and Full Flight Simulators (FFS), and future enhancements are expected to make it an indispensable tool for pilot training programs worldwide.
